Huli Technology

-Huli, being a hunting and gathering society are not very technically savvy and generally only experience modern day technology when visited by an outside group.

-They are able to build spears and blow pipes using natural resources.

-They use the rainforest to their advantage and recieve all of their resources from it.

Here are a few examples of Huli technology:

  • Aju- a traditional stone ax which serves many purposes.
  • Keba- This is a hardwood digging stick used to dig and drain gardens.
  • Pu- Pu is the name for string that is made by intertwining tree branches.
  • Nu- Nu are bags carried by both men and women and they are made from Pu.
  • Dambale- apron used to cover male genitals, also made from Pu.
  • Adanda- a bow carried by most men who are of age. They would also carry timu, arrows.
  • Dalu tu- a rain-cape
